a bundle of sticks and branches bound together

judging others is a funny thing. it's also a fun thing but that's besides the point. when it all comes down to it, looking at a person unlike yourself (race, sexual orientation, gender) and thinking you can understand their plight is basically impossible. i'll never know what it feels like to be black, gay or a woman. so, with that in mind, i could never really understand what it would really feel like to get called a faggot nigger bitch cunt. while i don't think white kids throwing around the word "nigga" is the end of the world, i certainly see why it would bother some people. i might tell those people to "Get over it" but ,as a white guy, it's really not my place to say shit. i've always looked at "nigger" as the extreme word of slander. it carries weight and has been around forever. pretty much any racial slur is bad news when used in a negative way. no shit. however, outside of those words, i think everything else is in bounds.
i'd say the word most argued (aside from the racial slurs) is "faggot". let me first say, i love this word. i love how it sounds. i love how sharp it is off the tongue and how effectively it gets a point across. but not as a word to describe a gay person. faggot goes beyond sexual orientation to me. a girl can be a faggot, a dog can be a faggot, a straight married man can easily be a faggot. in fact, the only time it's not cool to use is when you're talking about a gay person. but , in truth, it can totally be used to describe a gay person. the same way "bitch" can be used to describe a woman. not all women are bitches, but they're plenty of bitches out there. same goes for "faggots". but i prefer to use it for..well..pretty much everything else. for instance, if a friend is late and says "sorry I'm late...the traffic was horrible." my response might be "no problem, faggot!". did he blow a guy at a redlight on the way over? of course not. am i even hinting that he might have? not at all. he's just a late asshole..so he's a faggot. if i were to define the word I USE as faggot, it would be all encompassing. "a person who is selfish or lazy or entitled or boring or soft or tough or too friendly or wheezy or tired....." anything.
sexual orientation is a pretty simple thing. if you're the type who actually has an issue with what another person does with another person, well..you're a big faggot. cause in reality, WHO CARES? people are way too concerned with what other people do. that kinda shit gives a word like "Faggot" it's negative power. i feel like "Faggot" should be looked at with the same contempt that "douche bag" gets. after all, the both pretty much share the same space when used right.

i think the most annoying aspect of word policing is who is doing it. usually, when someone has scoffed at me for using that word, it's some straight white dude who doesn't know a single gay person. or a girl who just got out of art school and thinks the power of words can be like a weapon. in reality, those people are the biggest faggots on the planet. the politically correct faggot is one who has never really experienced shit or been through any adversity. if they had been, they'd realize there are more important things to worry about then a stupid word and it's connotation.
they're on some real faggot shit....
